XLPE insulated cable is a chemical or physical method that transforms the cable-insulating polyethylene molecules from a linear molecular structure into a main network structure.That is, the thermoplastic polyethylene is converted into a thermosetting cross-linked polyethylene, thereby greatly improving it. 

Polypropylene is a thermoplastic material that can be re-melted. That means it can be reused, for example as a sheathing material (or for other purposes).

Derived directly from EPR, we can obtain HEPR or high modulus ethylene propylene. It is a material with even greater mechanical characteristics with respect to breaking load, modulus of elasticity and other features that do not offer the above options.

Especially in the higher voltage area, the monopoly of paper insulated cables, such as oil-filled cables or gas-filled or compressed types of cables, is gradually collapsing into the co-existence with XLPE cables, which have great advantages and economical reasons such as higher permissible temperature level, ease of jointing and maintenance techniques and omission of equipment inherent to the pressurized cable.
